Bella Cosa Wedding Venue: A Lakeside Escape in Lake Wales, Florida

· Cherished Memories Studio

Some venues need very little help to feel magical, and Bella Cosa is one of them. We have photographed and filmed weddings at this Bella Cosa wedding venue more than once, and every time, the combination of old Florida history and lakefront scenery gives us more beautiful material than we know what to do with.

The History Behind Bella Cosa Florida

Bella Cosa sits on the shores of Lake Pierce in Lake Wales, and the property has a story that goes back nearly a century. Built in 1925 as the Lake Pierce Club, it was once a popular retreat for the era’s elite, with a guest list that reportedly included figures like Marilyn Monroe, Al Capone, and President Calvin Coolidge. Over the decades the property changed hands and names more than once, eventually undergoing a major renovation that brought back much of its original character, including the pecky cypress ceilings and oak floors that still define the space today.

That history is part of what makes a bella cosa wedding feel different from a typical new-construction venue. The grand foyer, the split staircase, and the ornate railings all carry a sense of old-world elegance that couples cannot recreate from scratch, no matter how much decor they bring in.

What a Bella Cosa Lakeside Wedding Venue Offers

Bella Cosa gives couples a genuinely flexible property to work with. The ballroom holds up to 150 guests indoors, while the outdoor courtyard and lakefront lawn can accommodate up to 200 guests for a ceremony or reception with a view of Lake Pierce behind you. Couples choosing an outdoor ceremony often gravitate toward the lakeside site under the property’s mature live oaks, while others prefer the more intimate, old-world feel of the courtyard.

The venue also offers on-site accommodations, with eleven furnished guest suites and a honeymoon suite available for couples who want to keep the celebration going after the reception ends. Two dedicated getting-ready spaces mean the bridal party and groomsmen can prepare on site, which cuts down on travel time and gives us more opportunities to capture natural, unposed moments earlier in the day.

Why We Love Shooting a Bella Cosa Wedding

As photographers and videographers, we are always looking for locations that give us range within a single property, and Bella Cosa delivers that better than almost anywhere else in Central Florida. The lakeside dock and shoreline offer soft, open light and a classic waterfront backdrop for portraits. The courtyard has a completely different feel, with its old-world charm and shaded, intimate atmosphere. And indoors, the original 1925 ceilings and oak floors give reception photos a warmth and texture that newer ballrooms simply cannot match.

Because the property includes so many distinct spaces, couples rarely need much additional decor to make their wedding feel complete, which means our photos and video end up centered on genuine moments rather than competing with an overly styled room.

Planning Your Bella Cosa Wedding

If you are considering this bella cosa wedding venue, a few planning details are worth knowing early. Bella Cosa offers one and two day rental packages, and peak season generally runs January through May and September through December, so couples aiming for a peak-season Saturday should expect to book well in advance. Vendor access typically runs from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the day of the event, and the venue allows couples to bring in their own licensed vendors, while also offering optional in-house catering and bar packages.

We always recommend scheduling a tour before booking so you can walk both the indoor and outdoor spaces and picture where your ceremony, portraits, and reception will each take place.

Our Favorite Bella Cosa Lakeside Wedding Venue Photos

When couples ask what makes the best bella cosa lakeside wedding venue photos, a few spots come up again and again. The dock at sunset is one of our favorites, with Lake Pierce providing a soft, glowing backdrop behind the couple. The lakefront lawn under the oaks gives us wide, romantic shots with plenty of natural framing. And the grand foyer and split staircase inside make for a striking formal portrait before the ceremony begins.

Is Bella Cosa the Right Fit for Your Wedding?

If you are drawn to the idea of an elegant, European-inspired wedding with genuine history behind it, rather than a blank event space you have to build from the ground up, Bella Cosa is well worth a visit. It suits couples who want a romantic, waterfront setting with the flexibility to host both ceremony and reception in one place, plus the option to keep celebrating with an overnight stay.

We would love to be part of your day at Bella Cosa. If you have a date in mind, reach out and let us know. We are happy to talk through timeline, lighting, and what to expect from us behind the camera.
